Former England batsman Nick Knight has been handed the task of captaining Warwickshire in 2004.
He was vice-captain in 2003 and captained the side on numerous occasions over the season.
2003 captain Michael Powell resigned from the post last week following his consistent battle with form since he took on the job at the end of 2001.
His slide with the bat has seen him fall from English contention and England 'A' status to struggling to keep his place in the first team squad.
