Collymore for the Bears

Friday, August 15 2003

West Indies pacer Corey Collymore has signed on to play for the Warwickshire Bears. The 25-year-old replaces injured Kenyan leg-spinner and joins fellow Bajan Vasbert Drakes in the county scenario.

In the clash between Leicestershire and Warwickshire, which began today, Collymore makes his debut against his fellow West Indian, Drakes.

Earlier this year, Corey Collymore was recalled to the West Indies Test team after a 2-year absence. He played two Tests against Sri Lanka and surfaced as the most potent West Indian bowler, taking two 5-wicket hauls (including a 7-wicket bag) in the series.
