Gary Kirsten (35) has announced his decision to delay retirement from international cricket in a bid to play his hundredth Test match. Kirsten stated that he also wishes to achieve 20 Test centuries before calling it quits. Currently he has played 92 Tests, with 18 centuries.
Currently the South Africa and Western Province opening batsman is enjoying a great run of for in England. He recently won the Man of the Match award against the hosts in the 4th Test match. In that match he scored 130 and 60.
Kirsten hinted that he would retire at the end of the England tour, but he has stated now that he does not want to leave the game with any regrets.
