NZ Draw 2nd Tour Game
Sunday, October 5 2003New Zealand played India 'A' in a 3 dayer in their 2nd warmup game of the Indian tour. They came out with a draw and in the process gave their batsman a good hit out which is what they needed going into the 1st test.
New Zealand batted first and declared their innings at 375/7 with Richardson retiring at 128 and Oram making his 2nd first class century of 101 not out. The 3rd top scorer was Craig McMillan who made 30. M Patel was the pick of the bowlers taking 3/83 off 25.4 overs.
Of what is likely to be the bowling attack for the 1st test the India 'A' openers made it look easy putting on 164 for the first wicket before Oram had Chopra caught at fine leg for 66. India 'A' continued on to make 403 all out with Ramesh making 110 and Badani 127 being the top scorers.
Tuffey and Vettori were the pick of the bowlers taking 3/70 and 3/96. Oram also followed up his good knock with figures of 2/86.
New Zealand lost their way in the 2nd innings a little finishing the 3rd and final day at 68/4.
