Cork Joins Lancashire
Friday, October 3 2003Disgruntled former England seamer Dominic Cork has completed his dummy-spit over losing the Derbyshire captaincy by announcing he will play at Old Trafford for the next 3 summers.
Cork, a veteran of 37 Tests, adds to a powerful Lancashire bowling attack that includes James Anderson, Glen Chapple, Peter Martin and Gary Keedy.
He left Derbyshire in controversial circumstances following the announcement by incoming director of cricket Dave Houghton that he will not be captaining the side in 2004.
Alas, Cork decided to move on from the county where he has spent his career.
He last played international cricket in 2002, and has been unsighted in English colours since before last winter's Ashes tour to Australia.
Lancashire finished second in this years County Championship - Cork's signing will no doubt help their challenge of gaining the trophy.
