Youhana saves the day
Friday, September 19 2003Pakistan won by 5 wickets against Bangladesh in the 4th ODI at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium. Yousuf Youhana top-scored with 94 not out and steered Pakistan by batting until the end of the match.
He was adjudged the man of the match for his efforts. Yunus Khan ably supported him but after his departure, Youhana had to steady himself. Captain Inzamam was next to go at 170 and the visitors put the break on. They had Malik run out brilliantly but a few misfielding and a bad over from Mashrafee steered the win to Pakistan.
The hosts made a decent start but both the openers were back before the 10th over. Comeback man Imran Nazir and Hafeez were both victims of some intelligent bowling from Baisya. He took two, while Rafique and Mashrafe took one each.
Earlier in the day, Bangladesh captain won the toss and without a blink of an eyelid, chose to bat first. But his decision was not supported by his charges, as the going was slow for Bangladesh. Saleh top scored with 47 before being one of four LBW victims.
He was on the verge of a good fifty but was undone by a disciplined spin bowling spell by Malik and Hafeez. At 144 for 5, a collapse was on the cards. But Tushar and Mushfiqur took the initiative that the top order didn't and scored at a run a ball.
Tushar scored his series highest of 33 and Mushfiqur got 22. Sami, Gul and Razzaq all got two wickets each but it was the spinners who stole the limelight.

Pakistan 223 for 5 in 49.5 overs (Youhana 94*; Baisya 2/42)
