Hauritz Earns Cup Call

Queensland off-spinner Nathan Hauritz has earned a call-up to World Cup 2003 following Shane Warne’s suspension for taking a banned substance.
21-year-old Hauritz has played 5 ODI’s for Australia, taking 7 wickets.
He has experience in South African conditions following the Australian tour to the republic last year.
Hauritz beat the challenge from Stuart MacGill and Michael Clarke for the vacant 15th man slot in the squad.
He has known about his selection for a handful of days yet the public announcement was not made until today.
His selection means he will miss his second straight Pura Cup final should Queensland qualify for the four-day decider.
