Pura Cup: SA vs Tas

Tasmania has ended South Australia’s Pura Cup Final aspirations with an 8 wicket win in Hobart.

Jamie Cox won the toss for the Tasmanians as they made 285 in their first innings, with Daniel Marsh making 111 and Sean Clingeleffer 44.

For South Australia, Paul Rofe took 5/62 while Mick Cleary finished with 3/72 from 21 overs.

South Australia were then blown away for just 122 in their first innings, with speedster Gerard Denton taking 5/40, Andrew Downton 3/31 and debutant Adam Polkinghorne 2/32.

Once the follow on was enforced, the Redbacks made 227 in their second innings, with Mark Higgs’ 96* being the only half-century by a Redback in the match.

For the Tasmanians, Downton took 3/61, with Denton also taking 3/61.

Tasmania then chased their target of 65 runs for outright points, with Scott Mason undefeated on 30.

Shaun Tait and Paul Rofe took 1 wicket each.
