Waqar sacked

Waqar Younis today paid for Pakistan's poor showing in World Cup 2003 with his job. His replacement will be Rashid Latif, whose age (34) indicates that he is likely to be a stop-gap appointment whilst a successor is groomed
In addition, coach Richard Pybus has been replaced by former captain Javed Miandad, whilst Yousuf Youhana has been appointed as vice-captain of the team following the earlier resignation of Inzamam ul-Haq.
In a move which could be interpreted as 'clearing out the Old Guard', The Pakistan Cricket Board also sacked the entire selection committee, formerly headed by Wasim Bari, installing Aamer Sohail as chief selector.
