Kenya & Zim to Sharjah?
Thursday, March 27 2003The controversy over the Sharjah Cup continues to rumble on as plans to move the tournament to Sri Lanka appear to have fallen through, despite apparent agreement from the Sri Lankan board.
It now seems that the tournament will take place in Sharjah, though its start has been moved backwards by two days to April 3. The tournament organisers, CBFS, have invited both Kenya and Zimbabwe as speculated, and are now confident of having at least three, if not four, teams participating.
Meanwhile, Kenyan captain Steve Tikolo is in talks with two South African club sides with regards to his playing future, and wicketkeeper-batsman Kennedy Otieno Obuya will play for BAT in the Southampton League in England in the coming summer.
