Flower Signs for Redbacks
Thursday, March 20 2003Former Zimbabwean wicket-keeper batsmen Andy Flower has signed to play for South Australia’s Redbacks for 3 years.
Flower retired from International cricket following Zimbabwe’s elimination in the Super Six rounds of the tournament.
His safety in Zimbabwe has been compromised following his gutsy stand against Robert Mugabe’s regime in his homeland.
The left-hander earned worldwide praise for wearing a black armband to symbolise the death of democracy in Zimbabwe.
He has been signed for the Redbacks as a specialist batsmen, as well as offering his leadership and experience to the Australian state.
