Caddick Retires from ODI’s
Saturday, March 29 2003English pace bowling spearhead Andy Caddick has retired from the ODI arena following his sides exit from the World Cup.
The 34-year-old right armer will now only play Test match cricket, and reports suggest he is likely to retire at the end of the following English summer from the International game.
The grey-haired quick played 54 matches, taking 69 wickets with a best of 4/19.
He had an average of 28.47, and economy rate of 4.01 and three four wicket hauls over his ten-year career.
Caddick’s retirement comes in the wake of England failing to make the super six stage of the World Cup and Nasser Hussain’s resignation as captain.
The lanky quick’s retirement places added significance on the return to full fitness of Darren Gough, who would lead an inexperienced attack.
