Lehmann critical of pitch
Saturday, March 15 2003Australian left-hander Darren Lehmann has called for the Port Elizabeth pitch to be improved in the days before the Semi Final between Australia and Sri Lanka.
Australia, who have been in trouble twice on the ground to the bowling attacks of New Zealand and England, do not want to make it third time unlucky against the out-of-form Sri Lankans, whose four-pronged spin attack of Muttiah Muralitharan, Sanath Jayasuriya, Aravinda de Silva and Russel Arnold will enjoy the conditions.
Lehmann called for the pitch to be a "250+ track" for the sake of the crowd and for an entertaining match of positive cricket.
