BCCI To Give Cash Rewards
Sunday, March 16 2003The Board of Control for Cricket in India (The BCCI) have planned to give cash rewards to the entire Indian Squad of 15 which are participating in this World Cup.
The Indian's have excelled and have reached the Semi-Finals of cricket's most prestigious tournament. The 15 man squad will recieve 18.7 million rupees as a reward for reaching the semi-finals.
The reward will be doubled to 37.5 million rupees if the team goes through to the finals, and then again doubled to 75 million rupees if the team brings home the World Cup. This reward is a bonus after the Indian's will recieve a cash bonus by the ICC as well.
Trainer Adrian Le Roux, and physio Andrew Leipus also will recieve rewards for raising the Indian players fitness and agility. The move is spearheaded by Indian Cricket Chief Jagmohan Dalmiya and shows the countries appreciation of what a fine job India has done in this World Cup.
