Indian Opening Worries

Tuesday, February 18 2003

India are still yet to finalise their best opening combination for the World Cup according to coach John Wright.

In recent matches, the great Sachin Tendulkar has opened with Sourav Ganguly, with boom youngster Virender Sehwag at number 3.

In their next match against Zimbabwe, India are expected to open the batting with Sehwag and the erratic Dinesh Mongia, with Rahul Dravid returning to three followed by Tendulkar and Ganguly.

They must also decide between the off-spin of Harbhajan Singh and the leg-spin of Anil Kumble for their next match.
