NZ Sri Lanka Squad Named
Wednesday, April 2 2003Richard Jones, the Wellington top order batsman has made the New Zealand test squad for the tour of Sri Lanka.
The other changes to the test and one-day squads is that Craig McMillan has been axed from both squads while Matthew Horne makes a return to both forms of the game going head to head with the re-called Chris Nevin in the one-day team.
Ian Butler and Paul Wiseman also return to the test side. Lou Vincent and Matthew Sinclair have also been dropped from the one-day squad but are still apart of the test squad that was named.
Nathan Astle is unavailable due to injury while Chris Cairns is only available for the one-day team having taken up a contract in England.
New Zealand test squad: Stephen Fleming (c), Shane Bond, Ian Butler, Robbie Hart, Matthew Horne, Richard Jones, Jacob Oram, Mark Richardson, Mathew Sinclair, Scott Styris, Daryl Tuffey, Daniel Vettori, Lou Vincent, Paul Wiseman.
New Zealand one-day squad (one to be added after the test series): Stephen Fleming (c), Andre Adams, Shane Bond, Chris Cairns, Chris Harris, Matthew Horne, Brendon McCullum, Kyle Mills, Chris Nevin, Jacob Oram, Scott Styris, Daryl Tuffey, Daniel Vettori.
