New Zealand vs Worcestershire
Day 3 - 9th May 2004

Worcestershire 270 for 9 dec and 0 for 1
New Zealand 379 for 7 dec (Oram 103*, McMillan 86)

The Black Caps' batsmen produced an impressive display today, recovering from 168 for 5 to secure a lead of 109 over their hosts. After a typically pugnacious 86 from Crain McMillan, Jacob Oram took centre stage with an undefeated 103 from only 120 balls. It was needed, as most of the top order had failed to capitalise on decent starts, but it gave an early demonstration of the depth of the New Zealand batting. The declaration left time enough for Shane Bond to quickly claim the wicket of Peters and, at this rate, a win for the tourists tomorrow is not out of the question. An impressive performance, given the amount of time that has been lost to the weather.
