Tour match ends in draw

Not surprisngly Australia's two day match against a Zimbabwe A side finished in a draw. Australia made their way to 448 all out, but the Zimbabweans didnt bat again and thus the match was called off with no chance of a result.

Ricky Ponting (1*) and Justin Langer (79*) resumed their countries innings at 151-1, looking for a easy day of batting practice ahead of the first Test on Saturday which has been threatened to be called off. Instead, Innocent Chinyoka broke through having Langer caught by Erick Chibhabha for 84. Australia 177-2.

Damien Martyn and Ponting both went about looking have some quality time in the middle. Ponting ended up top scoring with 87 and Martyn retiring his innings closed on 49.

Smin Katich (48) and Adam Gilchrist (36) both got some timely batting practice and some solid scores, but nobody went on with the job to contribute a score of any substance. Ponting's 87 ended up being the Australians highest scorer in their innings.

Cameron White (11) and Jason Gillespie (7) came and went pretty quickly. Michael Kasprowicz (25) and Brad Williams (11) were the top scorers as Australia were dismissed for 448.

Shane Warne and Darren Lehmann didn't bat.

Chinyoka was the pick of the Zimbabwe A bowlers with 2-47.

This could be Australia's last match in Zimbabwe with the tour on the line.
