Ganguly likely for 3rd Test
Sunday, April 4 2004Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly, according to latest reports, is said to have an 80% chance of recovering by the time for the third Test against Pakistan in Rawalpindi starting on April 13.
Ganguly saw his orthopaedic surgeon Kalyan Mukherjee in Calcutta on Friday, who assessed the back injury as being not so serious, after going through more scans taken after his return home.
Ganguly still has to undergo a few more scans, but will now most likely be fit for the Pindi clash.
Ganguly had injured his back while fielding in the recently concluded one-day series between the two neighboring countries, which India won 3-2.
Ganguly's abscence for the second Test means Rahul Dravid will lead the Indian eleven once again. India leads the Test series 1-0.
