Injured Flintoff recalled
Friday, July 2 2004A despairing English team, sitting on two consecutive Natwest losses and in a must-win situation going into their game against the West Indies today, has made the call. The powers that be have re-called up Andrew Flintoff, injured and all.
Flintoff, who sustained an ankle injury which would supposedly have kept him out of the entire series, will likely play as a specialist batsman. More than boosting the batting lineup's strength, however, Freddie Flintoff should add some inspiration and fire to the ranks.
Whether the clear move of desperation will pay off or not, we wait to see. The game between the West Indies and England is scheduled to bowl off at 1:30 pm (13:30) GMT.
