ZCU propose to end dispute
Friday, April 23 2004Zimbabwe Cricket Union (ZCU) sent a proposal to the 15 rebel players yesterday, which would help in ending the ongoing dispute.
The players, led by Heath Streak, have said that they would consider the proposal, and the compromises therein, and take a decision by today evening the earliest.
ZCU managing director Vince Hogg said, "The players are looking at the document. It will be Friday at the earliest before we get their response.
The trouble had begun when former captain Streak queried the composition of the Zimbabwe selection panel, and was eventually sacked. Several other players joined in the rebellion too resulting in their exclusion from the Zimbabwe squad to play against Sri Lanka.
