Zimbabwe name six rookies
Friday, April 16 2004Zimbabwe have named a very much under-strength squad to face Sri Lanka in first ODI next week (20th April). The squad is expectedly very much inexperienced, due to the political turmoil which has transpired of late.
Tatenda Taibu heads the squad which contains six uncapped players - Elton Chigumbura, Brendon Taylor, Prosper Utseya, Tawanda Mpariwa, Edward Rainsford, Tinashe Panyangara. There are also some familiar faces in the squad though. Of them Dion Ebrahim stands in as vice-captain.
At 20 years of age, Taibu will be the youngest man to captain his national side when he leads the team out on Tuesday.
