Rain again prevented play for most of the day. Gloucestershire recovered from 141 for 6 to 202 without further loss, mainly due to 58* from new captain Chris Taylor. Martin Saggers has figures of 4 for 31.
Northants vs Lancashire
Lancashire eventually declared at 504 for 9, after Carl Hooper had become the third centurion of this innings. In replay, Northants lost two early wickets but recovered to 142 for 2, largely due to 85* from Lancashire old boy Tim Roberts.
Surrey vs Sussex
Sussex established a lead of 141 by close of play, having reached 445 for 9. Chris Adams hit 101 and Tim Murtagh was the most successful bowler with 3 for 65.
Warwickshire vs Middlesex
Middlesex declared at 432 for 8, largely through Paul Weekes' 118. In replay, Warwickshire quickly lost Nick Knight and were 16 for 1 at the close.
