Southampton: Hampshire v Durham
Warne takes five but it's still in the balance

New Hampshire captain Shane Warne marked his return to the south coast in style with a five-wicket haul on a day where seventeen wickets fell at the Rose Bowl.

Resuming on 195-5, Hampshire's first innings was soon ended as Mark Davies doubled his overnight haul of three wickets and Liam Plunkett picked up the other two as the final five wickets fell for just 26, Michael Clarke adding just 2 to his close-of-play 73.

Durham fared little better in their reply as three wickets fell for just 19 runs. Skipper Jon Lewis made a typically obdurate 50, however, and Nicky Peng added 66 to his first-innings 49 as Durham added 111 for the fourth wicket until both fell with the score on 130. This was the cue for Warne to clean up the tail, and his 5-68 from 29 overs skittled the Durham lower order as they ended 201 all out.

Hampshire, set just 109, will not sleep easily however as Davies and Plunkett removed both openers to leave the hosts an uneasy 13-2 at stumps, with both not-out batsmen night watchmen.

Durham 128
N Peng 49, AD Mascarenhas 3-28
Hampshire 221
MJ Clarke 75, AM Davies 6-53
Durham 201
N Peng 66, SK Warne 5-68
Hampshire 13-2
DA Kenway 9, AM Davies 1-0

Cardiff: Glamorgan v Derbyshire
Seamers dominate but tails wag

It was a similar story at Sophia Gardens as Glamorgan's game against Derbyshire also saw 17 wickets fall. Kevin Dean and Mohammad Ali combined to knock over six Glamorgan wickets for 60 before Adam Dale (41) and David Harrison (37*) added what could prove a crucial 67 for the last wicket as Glamorgan made 185 - Dean taking 4-41, Ali 4-75.

Derbyshire's superiority did not last long, however, as despite Andrew Gait making 31 and Western Australian Chris Rogers htting 49, the Glamorgan attack soon got stuck in to the Derbyshire middle order, and 95-2 became 139-9 as Rogers' wicket pre-empted a collapse, with all the Glamorgan bowlers contributing. Hasan Adnan made 39, but nobody else crossed double figures until Mo Sheikh (15*) and Ali (21) added 35, before Simon Thomas (3-48) removed Wharf to become the sole Glamorgan bowler to take three wickets.

With a lead of 11 to take into six overs' play, Glamorgan will be delighted to have kept all ten wickets intact and moved on to 23-0, Mark Wallace making 19*.

Glamorgan 185

Derbyshire 178
CJL Rogers 49, SD Thomas 3-48
