Rain the Winner

Thursday, April 22 2004

Only 1 match had meaningful play of the 3 games today, as Northamptonshire's game with Durham UCCE was washed out, and there was only 1 over bowled at Loughborough.

Loughborough UCCE vs. Gloucestershire

James Averis bowled it, James Adams fell caught behind to the first ball of it, and Richard Wilkinson scored the only run from it.

LOUGHBOROUGH UCCE 1-1 (Wilkinson 1*, Averis 1-1)

Cambridge UCCE vs. Warwickshire

A bit more play here, as the county side got some batting practise, opener Mark Wagh hammering a century before lunch before falling for 105 off 89 balls and everyone else except Jim Troughton getting a start before the declaration left the students 2.5 overs against the unlikely new ball pairing of Graham Wagg and Ian Bell, with Wagh replaced by Ian Trott for the 3rd over, who says these counties don't take these games seriously?

WARWICKSHIRE 361-6 (Wagh 105, Frost 80*, Bell 54, Brown 46, Trott 44, Savill 3-93)
CAMBRIDGE UCCE 8-0 (Singh 8*)
