Pakistan stick with Inzy
Tuesday, April 20 2004Despite losing both the One-Day International and the Test series against India at home, the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) have announced that Inzamam-ul-Haq will remain the team's captain for the rest of the year.
The PCB chairman, Shaharyar Khan, while speaking to the press, said, "We appointed him for 2004 to introduce some consistency and continuity in the team. It was also to give Inzamam some confidence. We will stick by that policy."
Pakistan has had nine captains over the past ten years, which is by far the maximum any team has had for the period.
Pakistan's recent loss against India has been blamed on not-up-to-the-mark performances by key players, especially Shoaib Akhtar.
