Rampaul, Lawson in WI Test squad
Tuesday, May 25 2004West Indies have named fast bowlers Ravi Rampaul and Jermaine Lawson in their squad for the first Test against Bangladesh starting in St. Lucia on May 28.
Rampaul, 19, has played 14 One-Day Internationals till date. He is the only un-capped Test player in the side.
Lawson returns to the Windies team after an absence of 12 months, during which he had to undergo remedial work on his bowling action, which had been reported.
The selectors have also re-called left arm unorthodox spinner Dave Mohammed.
Brian Lara returns to captain the side, after missing the three-match One-Day series because of a finger injury.
West Indies squad:
Brian Lara (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan, Chris Gayle, Devon Smith, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Dwayne Smith, Ridley Jacobs (wicket-keeper), Ravi Rampaul, Tino Best, Fidel Edwards, Jermaine Lawson, Pedro Collins, Dave Mohammed.
