Northampton: Northamptonshire v Kent
Sami's heroics send Kent top

Mohammad Sami took ten wickets in the match as unfashionable Kent blasted past the Northamptonshire resistance to go top of the table.

Kent totalled 405-6 in their second innings after David Fulton (109) and Rob Key (173) added 222 for the first wicket, and Andy Symonds contributed as breezy 61 at number four, to set Northants 410 to win.

After two early Sami strikes, nightwatchman Johann Louw hung on for two hours with countryman Martin van Jaarsvedl (114) but the only other batsmen to resist were Graeme Swann (42) and Gerard Brophy (6) - who both faced 55 balls - as Sami cleaned out the lower order to end with 6-99 and 10-138 in the match.

Worcester: Worcestershire v Gloucestershire
Never in doubt

Alex Gidman struck half-centuries in both innings for Gloucestershire, but his resistance - joined with Stephen Adshead in the second innings - was never going to be enough after Worcestershire had racked up 619 first time out and the Gloucester top order had failed.

Matt Mason took five wickets and Gareth Batty bowled effectively to take 2-48 at less than two an over, and there was still half a day to play when Adshead (61) edged Batty to slip for a determined 61, 86 runs short of making Worcester bat again.
