Rain means draws

Saturday, May 1 2004

The match at the Parks was washed out, whilst the Cardiff Students impressively withstood the Glamorgan bowlers.

Glamorgan vs. Cardiff UCCE

In some ways it was dull, but Ross Lewis and Stephen Pope will remember today as the day they added 110 in 33 overs.

9 county bowlers had a turn, but the rain meant a draw was always certain.

GLAMORGAN 586-9 (Powell 201, Hemp 138, Maynard 80, Croft 77, Collier 4-107, Nolan 4-234)
CARDIFF UCCE 174-1 (Lewis 70*, Pope 69*, Wharf 1-18)

Oxford UCCE vs. Kent

With a second consecutive wash-out, the students were left to regret not being able to complete a near certain win over the weak Kent side.

KENT 9-1 (Carberry 9*, Suman 1-3)
