Sami injury scare

Sunday, April 11 2004

After losing Umar Gul, Shabbir Ahmed, Moin Khan and Abdul Razzaq, all to injuries, Pakistan are faced with another one, this time Mohammed Sami, who looks a doubtful starter for the third and final Test against India starting Tuesday in Rawalpindi.

Sami is said to be having back problems, which has caused him not to attend practice sessions. In fact, Sami has been complaining of the same since the start of the series, but held out until now.

If Sami does miss the Test, it will leave Pakistan with only one front-line pace bowler, Shoaib Akhtar, who will have to work with new-comers.
