Gul ruled out of 3rd Test
Sunday, April 11 2004Pakistan have suffered a considerable setback ahead of the third and final Test against India starting Tuesday in Lahore, as match-winning seam bowler Umar Gul has been ruled out due to injury.
Gul, who bagged a five-for in the first innings of the second Test, which played an important role in his team's nine-wicket victory, is suffering from back trouble.
Gul has had a history of injuries, as result not featuring in the Pakistani squad regularly.
Also missing from the squad for the Test are Shabbir Ahmed, Moin Khan and Abdul Razzaq.
Shabbir is yet to recover from a shin injury, while Moin and Razzaq are still receiving treatment on their groin and side strain injuries respectively.
