West Indies announce squad

The West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) has announced the thirty (30) man provisional squad for the ICC Champions Trophy to be held in England in September.

There was recalls for Merv Dillon, Daren Ganga and welcome returns from injury for Wavell Hinds and Marlon Samuels in the West Indies 30 man provisional squad for the ICC Champions Trophy.

Amongst the squad it appears the door is still open for Daren Ganga, Mervyn Dillon, Adam Sandford, Ryan Hurley, Corey Collymore, and Sylvester Joseph. It also sees a welcome return for Jamaicans Wavell Hinds, and Marlon Samuels who have been out injured. While youngsters Jason Bennett, Dwight Washington, Kurt Wilkinson, Daren Sammy are yet to play an ODI for the West Indies. Not surprisingly Carlton Baugh was named as the second wicket keeper behind Ridley Jacobs, but barring injury he is unlikely to be selected as Wavell Hinds can take the gloves if required.

The squad will be trimmed down to fourteen.
