Tasmania and Shane Watson ruined Shane Warne's return to first XI cricket, by winning by 3 wickets. Batting first, Victoria were bowled out for 218 with Darren Berry top scoring with 64, while for Tasmania Luke Butterworth (3-33) and Scott Kremerskothen (3-35) were the leading bowlers for Tasmania.
George Bailey (52*) and Shane Watson (63) put together a partnership of 96 before Mick Lewis broke through. The loss of regular wickets gave Victoria a chance, before Sean Clingeleffer joined Bailey and Tasmania were home. Shane Warne returned encouraging bowling figures of 1-48.

New South Wales v South Australia at Drummoyne Oval, Sydney - 15 February 2004
New South Wales won this close match by 8 runs. Batting first, NSW made 296-7 off 50 overs with Michael Phelps making a return to the side with 136. Anthony O'Brien made a quick fire unbeaten 49. Ryan Harris took 3-51 for South Australia.
South Australia made a quick start despite losing John Davison early, with their run rate above six, but the loss of wickets along the way, South Australia finished 8 runs short. Ben Cameron on debut in Limited Overs matches for South Australia made 66 and Darren Lehmann made 63. The Redbacks were hindered when Greg Blewett injured his hand.
