Mallendar, Dar in elite panel

Neil Mallendar (England) and Aleem Dar (Pakistan) are all set to join the International Cricket Council's (ICC) elite panel of umpires, following a review of the performance of the current members in April.
Both Mallendar and Dar have played first class cricket in their respective countries, with the former also having played 2 Tests back in 1992.
The unlucky ones, who will be dropped from the panel are Asoka de Silva, David Orchard and Russell Tiffin.
Billy Bowden, Darrell Hair and Simon Taufel, all three of whom were added to the panel last April, will retain their spots for one more year.
However, with Venkat's retirement, the number of members of the panel has been reduced from eleven to nine.
