Warwickshire interested in Waqar
Sunday, February 15 2004After losing out on the run to acquire the services of Darren Gough, English county Warwickshire are now looking towards former Pakistan captain and fast bowler Waqar Younis for the forthcoming 2004 season.
One of the major reasons why the county is interested in re-signing Waqar, who took 39 wickets off the only eight championship games he was available last season, is that he will most likely be able to play the entire season. He has been over-looked from the Pakistan squad for the home series against India, and doesn't look to be able to make a comeback in the national side for at least a while.
Warwickshire, who last won the county championship in 1995, have already signed Australia spinner Brad Hogg as one of their overseas players.
