C.Districts won by 7 wickets. C.Districts won the toss and sent Otago into bat and they made 238-8 off their 50 overs with Mohammad Wasim and Jeff Wilson each making 66. Wilson made his off 59 balls. Lance Hamilton was the pick of the C.Districts bowlers with figures of 10-3-34-1.
Youngster Ross Talyor showed how big a talent he is by making an unbeaten 132 off 136 balls with nine fours and five sixes. Matt Sinclair was a virtual spectator with a second highest score of 32.

Canterbury won by 73 runs and claimed the bonus point as well. Canterbury won the toss and batted first. Michael Papps and Peter Fulton each made 72 in the total of 254 all out. The loss of regular wickets and no batsmen going on with their starts halted Canterbury. Greame Aldridge took 4-33.
N.Districts were never in the hunt and kept losing wickets regulary before being 119-9 before number 11 Ian Butler made an unbeaten 40 off 34 balls to save face as they were bowled out for 181.
