State Championship: Day One
Monday, December 1 2003It was a mixed day of cricket as the 2003/2004 Domestic Season got under way in New Zealand. Both Central Districts and Northern Districts were bowled out cheaply and in reply both their respective oppositions Wellington and Auckland were left in precarious positions by stumps.
Meanwhile Canterbury made a decent start to their campaign reaching 289/7 at stumps against Otago.
Canterbury v Otago at Aorangi Park, Timaru:
Canterbury 289/7 - Peter Fulton 114, Neil Broom 53, Jeff Wilson 3-60.
Wellington v Central Districts at Basin Reserve, Wellington:
Central Districts 139 all out - Ewen Thompson 55*, Andrew Penn 4-46, Iain O'Brien 3-41.
Wellington 61/5 - Richard Sherlock 3-11.
Northern Districts v Auckland at WestPac Park, Hamilton:
Northern Districts 130 all out - Nick Horsley 42, Grant Robinson 40, Andre Adams 5-40, Kyle Mills 3-33.
Auckland 99/7 - Mark Richardson 40*, Mark Orchard 3-7, Joseph Yovich 2-19.
