Banks returns home

Tuesday, December 9 2003

Following the return trips of Jerome Taylor and Marlon Samuels, the West Indies team could scarce afford further injury worries. Omari Banks represents the third tour ending injury since the West Indies have arrived in South Africa.

Banks, 21-years-old, who debuted earlier this year against Australia, is one of the most promising talents to come out of the region, but will return to the Caribbean due to an early stress fracture of the back. Doctors have advised that Omari Banks stay out of cricket for at least three months so that he fully recovers.

As of yet, no replacement has been named.
