The United States of America has made cricketing history by qualifying for the 2004 ICC Champions Trophy to be held in England in September.
The USA won the Six Nations Tournament defeating Scotland by 0.027 on net run rate to win the tournament held in Dubai.
The Americans overhauled Scotland's 206 to win by five wickets in the 48th over, to end Scotland's hopes. Meanwhile Holland, the tournament's overnight leaders, blew their chances by losing to the United Arab Emirates. Holland, Scotland and the USA all finished with six points, but America squeaked home by virtue of a superior net run rate.
They now take their spot in the same group as Australia and New Zealand. These will be the USA's first official One Day Internationals.
