Day 1: New Zealand A v Sri Lanka A
Thursday, March 11 2004Sri Lanka A are 210/9 at the close of play after Day 1 of the first five day international match against New Zealand A at the Queenstown Events Centre.
New Zealand A won the toss and sent Sri Lanka A into bat and they lost the wicket of Hewage with no runs on the board.
Daniel and Mubarak followed with a good partnership of 73 runs but when Mubarak was dismissed wickets started to fall at regular intervals with the Sri Lankan A batsman struggling to come to terms with the bowling of Chris Martin and Ian Butler.
Sri Lanka A ended the day at 210/9 with Buddhika 27 not out and Hettiarach 1 not out. Chris Martin and Ian Butler took four wickets each having figures of 4/62 and 4/55 while there was one run out. Michael Mason and Bruce Martin were the other bowlers taking 0/30 and 0/53.
