Richard Davis Passes Away

Friday, January 2 2004

Former Kent spinner Richard Davis has died at the age of just 37.

The slow left-arm bowler, who also played for Warwickshire and Gloucestershure, suffered from a brain tumour.

Davis took 421 first-class wickets in his eight seasons with Kent.

He retired from first-class cricket in 1997 to become cricket development officer for Greater London.

He spent a year on the staff at Sussex as a one-day player and made fleeting appearances for Leicestershire as well as spending 2001 as player coach of Berkshire.
