Windward Islands v. West Indies 'B' at St. Georges

Fernix Thomas continued his recent form by wrapping a big win for the Windward Islands over West Indies 'B' to qualify for the semi-finals. Following a big first innings score, set up by Devon Smith's century, West Indies 'B' began their second innings trailing by 230 runs.

Thomas grabbed 5 for 49 as the Bs were dismissed for 237 with only Austin Richards (59) and Kenroy Williams (55) providing any serious resistance. Devon Smith (3 not out) and Romel Currency (8 not out) knocked off the required 8 runs for victory without loss.

Kenya v. Guyana at Georgetown

After their huge first innings showing, Guyana forced Kenya to follow on and ended up victors by and innings and 114 runs. Mahendra Nagamootoo (5/45) was the first innings bowling star and he followed that up with 3/46 in the second. Neil McGarrell (3/43) and the controversial Rayon Griffith (3/25) also featured among the wickets.

Kennedy Otieno (70) and Hitesh Modi (50) gave their best efforts at resistance, but it was futile and Guyana romped home.

Jamaica v. Leeward Islands at Alpart Sports Club

Jamaica romped to second spot in the Carib Cup with a thoroughly convincing 260-run victory over the Leeward Islands completed today before lunch. Yesterday Chris Gayle batted to a superb 219 which, coupled with efforts by Tamar Lambert (60 not out) and Maurice Kepple (58), took Jamaica to 394/3 dec. on second innings. West Indies pacer, Adam Sanford finished with figures of 27-6-94-1.

Andrew Richardson (4/23) and legspinner Odean Brown (4/44) then ran through the Leewards' batting, which ended all out on 144. Sylvester Joseph (31) and Wilden Cornwall (49) were the only batsmen to truly apply themselves on the day, in the chase of 405 for victory. Ridley Jacobs also got some success, ending unbeaten amidst the rubble on 22.
