Northern Districts claimed the upper hand on day 2. Resuming at 143-3, N.Districts struck early with the score on 147. Matt Horne made 118 resuming on 91* over night. Aaron Barnes next top scored with 37 as Auckland were dismissed for 283. Bruce Martin took 4-34.
Nick Horsely and James Marshall put on 72 Kerry Walmsley dismissed Horsely for 35. James Marshall was next to go on 155 on 78. At stumps N.Districts finished on 187-2.

Dismissed for 336, Otago have Canterbury on the back foot at 159-5. Mohammad Wasim (66) and Rob Lawson (50) were the top scorers in Otago's innings. Andrew Ellis took a career best 5-63 for Canterbury.
Chris Harris (63) was the top scorer along with Peter Fulton also contributed with 33 and with Neil Broom unbeaten on 30. Warren McSkimming taking 2-42.

In a bowling dominated performance, this match looks like heading to an early finish as C.Districts are 15-0 at stumps on day 2. After being bowled out for 63, C.Districts restricted Wellington to 310 - a lead of 428 and now need another 414 runs to win.
Chris Nevin top scored with Mark Gillespie top scored with 76* and Chris Nevin also contributing with 65 as Wellington were dismissed for 310. Lance Hamilton took 3-71 for C.Districts giving him 10 wickets for the match.
