Carib Beer Cup 2004
Round 2

Day 4 Barbados vs Jamaica at Kingston, Jamaica.

Despite the best efforts of Keith Hibbert (51), a middle order collapse sent Jamaica tumbling to defeat at the hands of table-toppers Barbados. The target was set on day three at 245. Overnight batsmen Kepple (65) and Parchment (36) took the score to 75 before the latter was the second wicket of the innings to fall.

Hibbert then revived the innings with Kepple via a 72-run partnership, but when the stand was broken, the tail collapsed to Benn (3/21). Tino Best finished with 3/53 and match figures of 8/97.

Day 4 Kenya v Trinidad and Tobago at Scarborough, Tobago.

Kenya struggled to a desperate draw against an inspired Trinidad and Tobago team on day four of their matchup. When the batsmen were offered bad light, the score was 88/8 chasing 211 after a disappointing display of batting and attitude from the Kenyans.

Using subtle time-wasting techniques, the batsmen managed to stall play for many brief periods, which largely affected the end result. Trinidad and Tobago wasn't helped either by two dropped catches off Dwayne Bravo (2/21). The most disappointing thing however, was the approach of the Kenyans. Needing 211 from a scheduled 68 overs, the tourists never even gave the target a thought and even Steve Tikolo was leaving alone half-volleys outside his offstump.

The Kenyans fought staunchly to defend their wickets, allowing Imran Jan to set attacking fields and bowl an attacking line. Reyad Emrit returned in the final half-an-hour of play and grabbed three quick wickets to finish with a career best return of 13-6-12-5.

Earlier in the day T&T collapsed to 103 all out at the hands of some impressive bowling, especially from Martin Suji (15-8-23-4). Imran Jan (30) was the topscorer, with only Thompson (15) and Gibran Mohammed (13) making an impact otherwise. First innings centurion, Shazam Babwah made just 4.

Trinidad and Tobago 1st innings 257 ao (100 overs)
(Shazam Babwah 100, Dwayne Bravo 69)
