On the back of 3 washed out games in the 10th and final round of the 2003/04 State Shield it sees Canterbury go straight through to the final while Central Districts and Auckland will fight it out in the semi final.

Wellington won the toss and got through to 41/2 before heavy rain came over the Basin Reserve and washed out the match.
