Gillespie fitness unlikely

Jason Gillespie is ulikely to be fit for the crucial third Test against India, which starts on Boxing Day at Melbourne. The Australian strike bowler strained his right groin during the second Test and was forced to leave the field on day five.

"I'm feeling pretty good this morning, and the medical staff are pleased it isn't too bad, but I'm not holding high hopes of playing at Melbourne," Gillespie on the issue.

This is a major setback for Australia, who seeks to rebound from an historic defeat at the hands of India in the last Test. Glenn McGrath and Shande Warne have already been ruled out with injury and suspension respectively, but Brett Lee is set to return with Brad Williams hopefully fit in time for the game.

The squad will be named on the 22nd.
