Walker 5-for pegs Pakistanis
Sunday, December 14 2003Brooke Walker took 5/55 as Auckland restricted Pakistan to 318 on the First Day of the Tour Match at Eden Park.
Imran Farhat made 74 and Yasir Hameed 96 as the Pakistanis started strongly, but despite 43 from Asim Kamal and a breezy 32 from Shoaib Akhtar, the last seven wickets fell for 121 with leg-spinner Walker the destroyer in chief.
Lou Vincent did his Test chances no help by being dismissed - caught Sami bowled Shoaib - for four, but Tim McIntosh and Mark Richardson, who also picked up Asim's wicket with his occasional spin, are both still there on 13* with the hosts on 35/1 at close of play on the first day of three.
