Tuffey to miss 3rd Test

Monday, March 22 2004

Kiwi paceman Daryl Tuffey has withdrawed from the third Test Match against South Africa starting Friday March 26 in Wellington, because of a thigh injury.

Tuffey injured his left thigh while fielding on the first day of the on-going second Test Match between the two countries, as a result causing a large bruise on the upper part.

Tuffey's injury will require a rehabilitation programme including physiotherapy, under the direction of the New Zealand Cricket medical panel.

Tuffey's injury should heal by the time for the selection of the England tour, according to general manager Lindsay Crocker.

New Zealand will name their squad for the third Test on Monday.
