Mallendar opts out of elite panel

42-year-old English umpire Neil Mallendar has opted to turn down the International Cricket Council's (ICC) offer of joining the elite panel of umpires, citing family reasons.

Mallendar had been invited by the ICC to join the panel following a review of recent members of the panel, along with Pakistani umpire Aleem Dar, however the Yorkshireman has decided to not accept the offer.
