In celebration of the 75th anniversary of West Indian cricket, the first Windies Test team was honoured yesterday when commemorative memorabilia was presented to family members of the players. The representatives of the Barbadian, Trinbagonian and Guyanese players were awarded during yesterday's rain delay but the Jamaicans will be awarded during the course of the second Test match at Sabina Park, Jamaica.

CEO of the WICB commented:
"We are extremely pleased that the descendants of these pioneers of West Indies cricket have consented to attend and help us to mark this momentous occasion in the history of the game in the Caribbean. They are our link to the memory of those first Test cricketers whose contribution must not be forgotten."

The following players were remembered:
Cyril Browne
George Challenor
Learie Constantine
Maurice Fernandes
George Francis
Herman Griffith
Edward "Teddy" Hoad
Clifford Roach

The West Indies played their first ever Test match on June 23-26, 1928, at Lord's in England.
